Welcome to our August edition of Cradle 2 Kindy Parenting Solutions newsletter. I hope you will find something of interest in this edition.
A Note from the Editor
I wonder how many of you were able to attend the Starlight Foundation ball. Thank you to all those who did find time to attend. It certainly is a worthy cause.
In our June newsletter I brought to your attention the services we at Cradle 2 Kindy Parenting Solutions services provide. Over then next few issues I would like to highlight some of these services. In this issue I would like to bring to your attention our Nursery Preparations.
Nursery Preparations
This two hour visit is an excellent pre baby-shower gift for any parents to be. Why pre-baby-shower? Getting a professionals point of view on appropriate brands and products you and your baby may requirement will help you make your wish list and may help you avoid buying unnecessary items which you may need to return later.
Both parents will benefit from this professional visit as we cover a variety of topics such as the safety standards for baby products, what products are and are not necessarily needed for baby, mother and the nursery.
These topics cover - clothing, bedding, nursery equipment and furniture, bath, feeding and medical needs, play ideas, car and home fittings, prams, safety around the home and many more ideas for baby, nursery and mother. Hand outs and a nursery check list is also provided. We also provide a handy list of items, for both parents, of things they may need for the birth and during mum's stay in hospital.
Testimonial: Unfortunately we didn’t know about this service till after the baby shower even so the information we received was extremely valuable. We were given such helpful information which certainly prepared both my husband and I for the hospital visit and for our baby’s home coming. Our coach then returned to help us with our newborn. I’d definitely recommend this service to any first time parents, to help you prepare for your baby. Linda, Randwick, NSW
If you know anyone expecting a baby and would like to give them a gift you know will have an impact our Gift Voucher for the Nursery Preparations.Parenting e-books
Our e-books available online through our Publications are: 'The Cradle Will Rock' 0-3 months (86 pages), 'Rock a Bye Baby' 3-9 months (103 pages), 'When the Wind Blows' 9-18 months (88 pages), and 'When the Bough Breaks' toddler and child (74 pages).
E-book testimonial: "Hi, I just wanted to say thank you for your great website and publications (as well as the giant wraps!). Since I started a routine with my 4 month old, about 3 weeks ago, using lots of your advice from your e-book we haven't looked back. Before doing this I was finding myself frequently feeding after 3 hours, nearly having mastitis twice and generally feeling frazzled and unable to get out to do anything.
After a hard slog for the first week and probably an increase in the amount of crying in our house - that includes my baby, me, my husband (nearly) and probably my other 2 girls I have noticed that we are all a lot more relaxed, me especially. I have time to do things again, and by 7:00-7:30 each night ALL of our kids are in bed and I can relax with my husband. Every day my baby is easier to resettle and I am getting more and more confident, and less worried about him waking when it is not time for a feed He also seems happier and more relaxed and as you advised I am starting to wander round my house wondering what to do with the extra time I've got again! Anyway it's just on 10pm so it's time to go and feed! Regards, Jennifer."
We would love to hear from others who have found our e-books or any of our products helpful. Please email me via our Contact Us page
Warm regards,

What's New?
Thanks to word going out about our service to families in rural areas through information on our Correspondence Consultation and Case Studies pages, Sally had a trip up to Singleton to assist with a two year old's bedtime routine and night waking. It was a lovely break from travelling the streets of Sydney. The GPS took her on a winding rout through the beautiful Aussie bush past several farm gate produce on sale. Unfortunately she didn't return by the same route as she was looking forward to buying some fresh farm produce. Thanks also to existing clients who have passed on our contact details to friends and family in other states. We have received quite a few inquiries and are now supporting parents in Western Aust, Victoria and rural NSW. Below read a happy testimonial from one of our client in Perth, WA. Thank you to all those who have passed on our contact details.
This Month's Article
June was a busy month for me with toddlers and young children which has lead me to address a few issue over the next few months that as parents you too may face. Some of which can scare the wits out of parents. The first of these is topics I will cover in this and the next issue is: Phobias, Fears and Anxiety in babies and young children."Parents naturally want to protect their children against the terrors and pains this world can bring but unfortunately there are some things that we may not be able to protect our children from". .....click here to read the full story on Phobias, Fears and Anxiety.
Parents Testimonies
Leanne's E-mail from WA
My son was diagnosed with Silent reflux at 6 weeks old. I remember feeling disappointed we didn't realise what was going on earlier. We gave him the small dose of Losec prescribed and thought we were on top of things. Things didn't get better. We had a day stay at the Mothercraft Residential Centre, (which he slept through, I must have called them at least 20 times, sought help from the local community health nurse and numerous appointments with our paediatrician.Despite my efforts, we had no routine. I was feeding 3-4 times at night. Rocking him for 40 minutes in his pram to get a 20 minute sleep during the day. He was ALWAYS tired and would often have times where he would be screaming in pain for 1-2 hours until the pain subsided. My whole day consisted of me trying to get him to sleep. I was given so much conflicting information: it's a growth spurt, feed him more during the day, he will grow out of it. At 18 weeks I was told about C2K from a friend in Sydney. As we live in Perth, I was able to use C2K services via correspondence.
I cannot imagine what our lives would be like if we hadn't had the help from Cradle 2 Kindy. Our parenting coach, Sally has been heaven sent! Sally was correct...medication was the key to our son's contentment. I had got into so many bad habits just trying to keep him from crying and get him to sleep. Sally gave me the tools to completely change this around. I now have a son who sleeps during the day and sleeps through at night but most of all he isn't screaming in pain. I never imagined this could happen so quickly.
Using Cradle 2 Kindy via correspondence has been a piece of cake. Sally has always been contactable within a few hours when I have needed her. I managed to achieve everything she outlined. I have stuck to her advice and with persistence and being consistent, my son is living a much happier pain free life.
He is actually giggling and not crying during his up time.
If I could, I would nominate Sally for the Nobel peace prize!!! She has certainly bought peace to our house.
Having a baby with reflux is a challenge and can take its toll. I just feel so lucky to have had the opportunity for Sally to help us especially when no one in Perth could".Any Questions?
